Al-Hani Construction and Trading Company was established in 1963 in Kuwait. It has since grown to become one of the most successful construction firms in the Middle East.

Many of Kuwait’s landmark developments bear our fingerprint, both in the civil, mechanical and electrical sectors. Further afield, the firm has also executed projects all over the Arab world and has delivered on a number of joint venture projects with international contractors.

During the four and half decades of its existence, Al-Hani has become a by-word for engineering and contracting excellence. With its highly competent team of engineers, strong capital base of 3.2m KD (approximately $11.2m), significant cash reserves, large stock of cutting-edge plant and machinery, and outstanding financial history, it is uniquely placed to execute the most challenging of projects in the Gulf’s booming construction market.

Over the years, Al-Hani has realized highly prestigious public projects such as Kuwait International Airport, the Kuwait Ministry of Information Complex, Kuwait University Computer Centre and Seef Palace (electrical works) among many others. Clients have included the Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Housing. In the private sector, Al-Hani has also delivered commercial projects such as the vast Safat Al-Ghanim mall and the Nissan Showroom.

Al-Hani is privately owned. Abdel Mohsin Al-Qattan, the company’s founder, and members of his family, are its principal shareholders with a minority share held by a number of the descendants of the late Hajj Khaled Youssef Al-Muttawa, the company’s other founder. Abdel-Mohsin Al-Qattan is Chairman and Managing Director. Omar Al-Qattan is Deputy Managing Director.

Major current projects include the Kuwait National Library (contract value 13m KD or $47m, due for delivery in Autumn 2008) and a new five-star, fast-track, design-and-build conference hall in Bayan Palace (contract value 28.5m KD or $100m) due for delivery in 2010. The company is also building Future Mall, a commercial development in the Shwaikh (Rai) area, opposite the Avenues Complex.
